Announcements

We need to make this very clear - we have no roof, there are no tours.

We're well into our second month without a roof. Not just a little hole in our ceiling, we're talking about not one inch of roof covering the entire 20k sq foot building that houses the brewery since February.

The good news is that the engineering studies are done, the plans have been approved, the materials ordered and delivered, and some of the work has started!

See for yourself right here:

Roof Progress

This, of course, means we're in no shape to offer tours & tastings right now. We do, however, have lots of off-site events planned! Keep an eye out for information under the "Adventures" tab above or the "Upcoming Events" section located below.

For those of you following what our brewers are doing while they're unable to brew, here's the latest video installment. Enjoy!

No tours/tastings until we have a roof - and we don't have a roof right now.

We apologize for the lack of updates lately. We were in Chicago last week for the annual Craft Brewers Conference and since we're still roofless and unable to brew or hold Wednesday or Saturday tours, we decided to take a few extra days and visit the Rahr family cabin in Wisconsin. With virtually no cell service or wi-fi, it was a great opportunity for us to step away from our phones and computers and focus on plans for complete world domination once we’re back up and running.

For those of you new to this website, here’s the “Readers Digest” version of what’s going on: An unprecedented winter storm hit Fort Worth last February. Our roof collapsed under the weight of the heavy, wet snow. We’re still waiting for the roofing materials to be delivered and the new roof to be built. Our insurance company has been fantastic. Our supporters have been phenomenal. Our brewers have been bored.

Our good friends at GCG Marketing have taken on the heady task of documenting what brewers Austin Jones, Jason Lyon and Rahr & Sons founder Fritz Rahr are doing during this downtime. Here are Episodes 5 and 6, along with a link to our youtube channel, which shows all the videos.

Episode 4: What do brewers do when they can’t brew?

Another week without a roof. Wanna see what our brewers have been up to? Take a look at this:

We are so lucky to have the fantastic team at GCG Marketing documenting our ‘downtime’ – but we’ll feel really lucky when these guys are back to doing what they do best…brewing beer!

Episode 3: What do brewers do when they can't brew?

For those new to this site, our roof collapsed during an unusually robust snowstorm on February 12. While we await our new roof, our good friends (with brilliant minds!) at GCG Marketing have taken it upon themselves to answer the question, “What do brewers do when they can’t brew?” by documenting what Fritz Rahr and brewers Austin Jones and Jason Lyon are doing during this downtime.

A new video is uploaded every Friday, so be sure to check back in!

We hope you enjoy this week’s installment:

Episode 2: What do brewers do when they can't brew?

The news is basically the same – we’re still roofless. But we're happy to report the materials have been ordered and are en route right now! We are learning the art of patience with this project -apparently, putting a roof on a 20,000 sq ft building takes time. Who knew?!?

It’s going to be many more weeks before we're back at work in our comfortable, familiar brewery, so here’s an update on how we’re keeping ourselves busy:

Our sales reps are pounding the pavement with beer updates for our accounts (if you’re a bar/restaurant/store and you haven’t seen one of them yet, be on the look-out because they’re making their rounds!); when Fritz and Erin Rahr aren't busy with insurance adjusters and contractors, they're able to spend some time with the “And Sons” (the boys aren’t going to be kiddos much longer so this part is really important!); and the question on everyone’s mind…What are Austin and Jason – the Rahr brewers – doing now that they can’t brew?

We think this sums it up pretty well:

We’re grateful to our good friends at GCG Marketing for filming these little bits and keeping us laughing during this downtime.

And we’re grateful to you for continuing to support our roofless brewery! We are still unable to have regular Wednesday and Saturday tours of the brewery, but we have some fun off-site events planned during the upcoming weeks – so watch “Upcoming Events” section at the bottom of this page for updates. You can also check out events on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/rahrbrewing.
