Announcements

We're not open for Tours & Tastings this week....

...but hold tight - it shouldn't be too much longer before we reopen.

We're not open this week, but we have some news!

We won't be open to the public for tours & tastings this weekend, but there is still good news! Our distributors have our summer seasonal - Summertime Wheat - so start looking for it on tap at your favorite restaurant/bar. Don't see it on tap at your favorite watering hole? ASK FOR IT! They can get it - we promise!

No tour this week...but we have other big news!

Due to a catastrophic roof collapse, the family and staff at Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. had some extra time on our hands and we decided the ol' logo was overdue for a tune-up. We worked to make the new, improved version a nod to the 160-year Rahr family brewing history by having a font created in the spirit of lettering used in the good old days, and we also wanted to recognize the ‘upward and onward’ philosophy that was borne from this terrible event. We believe the artists at GCG Marketing, the folks who made this new logo, hit the nail on the head.

This is BIG news, folks!

For the last eight years Zymurgy Magazine, a publication of the American Homebrewers Association, has asked its readers to send in a list of their top 20 favorite beers. This year we’re thrilled to announce our ranking as the top brewery in the United States and we’re honored to receive the Zymurgy Spirit of Homebrew award.

To put into perspective how important this ranking is in the world of craft beer, Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. topped perennial favorites, Boston Beer Co. (makers of Sam Adams) and New Belgium Brewing Co. We are in awe of this ranking and we’re pleased beyond words to be doing our part to keep Texas in the hearts and minds of craft beer lovers.

From Fritz Rahr: “This is exactly the kind of support that keeps us going, despite this year’s roof collapse. We’re poised for another great year with big plans for Rahr’s future, and I think we’ll be successful as long as our fan base remains our litmus test.”

Look for copies of Zymurgy in your local Barnes & Noble bookstore or - better yet - stop by your local homebrew shop for a copy. Who knows, you might get the itch to learn to brew while you're there!
